Frequently Asked
Questions |
|
Once people learn about the work we do, they usually
have many questions. Here are a few:
Q:
Why should we donate internationally
when there are so many people locally who need help?
 |
Do you
know of someone who has adopted
internationally? In 2002, over 4,939 children
were adopted into the United States from Russia
alone. All of these children will have spent
time in a very impoverished setting, most likely
an orphanage. |
 |
With
over 100 adopting families from the Vladimir
region of Russia in our community (through just
one agency), every dollar Embrace spends to help
a child impacts the possible son or daughter our
relatives or neighbors may bring home tomorrow. |
 |
If
we can allow one child a chance with proper
nutrition and medication, we can change the way
that child will grow, giving the next adopting
family a better chance at a successful life
without the trauma that encompasses early
childhood malnutrition, impoverished brain
development, and a greater risk of chronic
disease later in life |
Q: How
do you get our donations to Russia?
 |
· Parents
traveling to adopt or groups on a mission agree
to carry aid. Detailed inventory lists are
sent and arrival of aid is confirmed via email
or telephone. |
 |
Money is wired to Ytecheneye, Food is purchased
through this fund similar to an electronic
withdrawal made by the baby food supplier. We
are required by the Russian Government to
provide a paper trail stating the express
purpose for any money wired. During our 2005
trip, we’ll personally ensure your donations are
being spent in the best possible way. |
Q: What
can I do to help?
 |
Consider attending our next benefit
dinner “A Night at the Silver Screen” on
Saturday, October 23, 2004. Not only will you
have a wonderful time at the dinner and silent
auction, your donations will have an amazing
impact on our work! You will be receiving your
invitation very soon. Also, please extend our
invitation to anyone you think would enjoy this
night of fun and goodwill. will. |
